About

Me in a sacred water temple in Bali, Indonesia. January 2020, before the metaphorical sh$t hit the fan. From the waist down I am wearing a traditional sarong and belt that they offer you at the site. All temples ask that visitors cover their legs and they all offer sarongs and belts to wear over your clothing.

Hi! And welcome to my blog.

My name is Amanda and I am an American in her late 40s who lives in Vienna, Austria. I am an expat, a writer, a blogger, a teacher and I work with refugees. I write about travel, healthy living, stuff that inspires me (and hopefully you), expat life, and more. It can sometimes get all woo up in here (spiritual) but I try to keep that to a minimum. Feel free to leave comments. This website is a work in progress, as am I. It will continue to grow and change as I do. I welcome comments. Enjoy!

I’m all about:

Travel

I live in Central Europe so it is easy to get around this continent (especially when there isn’t an ongoing pandemic). I try to add a unique spin to my travels and helpful hints. Whether it’s Bali, Slovenia, England, or the US, come explore with me!

Inspiration

I am into self-improvement, self-love, healthy living and high vibe stuff. You can’t feel good 24/7, but you can get yourself out of the blues if you try hard enough. Meditation is essential, movement, music and more. I will give you tips to live your best life (as Lady O would say)!

Healthy Living

I did an overhaul of my eating and lifestyle habits in my early 30s due an illness –actually, many illnesses and symptoms that are now mostly gone. I still have to watch what I eat and drink. In theory I subscribe to the ‘everything in moderation’ mindset, but in practice I have to be more careful than the average person. It’s not always as fun as it could be, but I try to get creative.

And much more…

I write about whatever I feel interested in and passionate about. Hopefully I can inspire you too!
